The virus is still hampering efforts to create a leisure park on the Conisbrough and Denaby Crags, but Friends of the Crags leaders Tony and Carol Sellars have nevertheless been busy during the past month – escaping Covid-19 confinement by clearing the area of litter.

And despite the lockdown, there’s still plenty of it…

Tony and Carol went out early in March and gathered nine bags of garbage (some of them pictured here) – and they following it up just week with another huge haul of 10 bags.

So in total they have now hauled NINETEEN bin bags full from the area.

They have been helped by Doncaster Council, whose Street Scene team has taken the litter off their hands with collections from outside St Alban’s Church.

All this adds up to great work by Carol and Tony… if not so great by the people who continue to dump their rubbish in this green space.
